Internships at ICNA-NJ/WhyIslam

ICNA-NJ has a number of positions for duration of approximately 8-10 weeks for college-level interns over the Summer 2023 period. These paid positions provide valuable work-experience in a stimulating environment focused on Islamic objectives. To be eligible for this program you must be currently enrolled at a post-secondary educational establishment. We are particularly interested in college students with the following backgrounds or interests.

i) Content/Journalism Intern  – Pursuing an English, Journalism, or Social Studies major to work in our communications area. You will write material (articles, emails, newsletters etc) for Muslim and non-Muslim audiences. This position will work in both dawah and social justice fields.

ii) Digital Marketing and Data Analytics Intern  – You will work on WHYISLAM’s National marketing initiatives and analyze trends and opportunities for optimization. Applicants for this position must have a strong interest in marketing, social media and analyzing large quantities of data.

iii) Dawah Intern – You will be passionate about Dawah with non-Muslims(Inviting to learn about Islam). A major part of this role will be to engage with non-Muslims by Phone, and/or email who have requested a copy of the Quran, or expressed interest to learn about Islam and Muslims. 

iv) Social Media Intern– Excited and Passionate about Dawah (inviting others to learn about Islam), you must have a passion for social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Tiktok, etc.). In-depth knowledge, or willingness to learn how to manage and optimize multiple Social media platforms, best practices/strategies, do’s and don’ts, social trends, responding to trends/memes to capitalize on opportunities; ability and willingness to take creative risks.

These positions require on-site presence at the WHY-ISLAM center, 1320 Hamilton Street, Somerset NJ 08873. Some flexible-working arrangements may be possible.
